Come and get a nationally recognized qualification in Mountainbiking at Treesufers. MIAS level 1/2 will enables you to take a group of cyclists off roading. A great qualification for teachers, youth workers and Scout leaders. Its also a great course for any individual who is a keen mountainbiker.

Tramper Mobility Scooter at Tamar Trails

Access all areas! Thanks to the introduction of a ‘Tramper’ all-terrain mobility scooter at Treesurfers in Gunnislake, the stunning woodlands of the Tamar Valley are now accessible to all.
Launched in 2009, Treesurfers offers ropes courses and zip-wire tours designed to help people get up close and personal with some of the South West’s most beautiful woodlands in the Tamar Valley, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). With the introduction of the Tramper, people with limited mobility living in and visiting the South West region can now head out and explore the 25km of Tamar Trails.
John Ladlow from Gulworthy was the first person to try out the Tramper on the Tamar Trails. John said: “I tried out this vehicle last week and was able to go on all the multi use tracks throughout the trails. It is robust enough to tackle even the steeper tracks and felt very safe. This means that people with walking problems can get to see all that the trails have to offer”.
Kate Blake from Treesurfers said: “It was our intention when launching Treesurfers to open up this dramatic wilderness to as many people as possible. We’re delighted that with the help of the Tamar Valley AONB and Living Options Devon we’ve been able to introduce this fantastic mobility scooter.”
The Tramper was part-funded by the Tamar Valley AONB – which aims to protect and enhance the landscape of this special area – and the Countryside Mobility South West scheme, run by Devon wide charity Living Options Devon (LOD), working to improve access to the countryside for people with limited mobility. The Tramper all-terrain mobility scooters and wheelchair accessible Wheelyboats are available for hire at over 20 countryside locations across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset. Other local sites operating mobility Trampers include The National Trust’s Saltram Estate and Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.
To hire the Tramper people need to join the Countryside Mobility South West membership scheme (£8.50 per year or £2.50 for 4 weeks) which covers users for all Tramper sites in the South West. The cost of hiring the Tramper at Treesurfers is £2.50 per hour.

Bike Hire at Tree Surfers

Hire a mountain bike from Tree Surfers to explore the Tamar Valley trails.

£10 for half a day, £15 for whole day

Open all year round 9am onwards.

We have 25kms of off road woodland tracks staright from our front door taking riders through the Tamar Valley world heritage areas. The views across the valley are stunning and the riding suitable for active families. The trails are wide, with a compacted but rough surface.

Work has taken place to conserve many heritage sites along the trails, making them safe for public access, as well as improving biodiversity through measures such as controlling invasive species, habitat management to encourage the heath fritillary butterfly and ensuring conservation works still allow the resident bat populations to continue roosting in the old mine shafts and buildings.

Canoeing and Kayaking holiday for adults

Join us on a long weekend of stress busting fun and challenge. Spend your time messing about on the river learning to canoe or kayak with our team. The weekend will leave you feeling invigorated and, we hope, inspired to carry on developing your new found skills.

This is a weekend of escapism in the great outdoors, a break from the demands of your life; improve your skills, gain confidence and feel fitter.

Each day you will be out canoeing or kayaking on local rivers, lakes and on the sea. You do not need to have any experience or to be very fit, our experienced instructors will guide you through the basics and help build your skills and confidence on the water.

Come and enjoy great food at the Tree Surfers take away cafe. From our espresso machine we serve freshly ground cappuccinos, lattes, and espressos. Our homemade cakes are sumptious and for lunch we have paninis, bacon rolls and filled baguettes. We also have a range of cold drinks and Kelly’s ice-cream.

Woodland and Water Adventure Days

Kids Go Wild at Tree Surfers!

We are now offering school holiday Adventure Days where kids can spend the whole day or whole week with us ‘hanging around in the trees and mucking about on the river’

Activities include:
Tree Surfing
Archery
Canoeing
Bush craft
The Tree Jump
Trail Hunting
Kayaking and Raft building

Dates:

Monday 26^th July to Friday 30^th July
and
Monday 16th August to Friday 20th

Times: 9.00am to 4.00pm

Ages: 8 years to 17 years

Cost: £30 a day or £140 for the whole week

Children can be booked for 1 day or up to all 5 days of the week. They do not need to be accompanied .
