Mountain Biking Course (MIAS)

COURSE INFORMATION 

MIAS MTB LEVEL 1 / 2 Training and Level 1 Assessment Course                                          23rd – 24th June 2012

 

You need to be a keen mountain biker and be able to cope with basic intermediate off road terrain and have a genuine desire to lead MTB groups.

You also need to have a well maintained off road mountain bike for this course. The course concentrates on Basic coaching skills, Bike maintenance, Safety issues / considerations and Leadership skills requirements for leading on and off road mountain bike groups.

The course will be running at Treesurfers, Woodlands, Gulworthy, Tavistock, Devon and you will be cycling in the surrounding areas to the centre.

 

Equipment you need to bring with you:-

Well maintained mountain bike, Cycling helmet, MTB gloves, packed lunch, plenty of fluid to drink, appropriate personal outdoor clothing, full set of waterproofs, hat, survival bag, spare clothing, compass, head torch, whistle, basic bike repair kit to include puncture repair kit, tyre levers, spare inner tubes, multi tool. (In addition if you have it a First Aid Kit and Group Shelter).

You are also required to bring with you a copy of your First Aid Certificate and any walking based leadership or coaching qualifications you may hold.

Prices


The course total is £150 which includes £50 MIAS registraion fee - if you don't have a suitable bike then mountain bike hire is available at a cost of £10 per day.
